How To Operate And Maintain The Valve During Operation

Oct 12, 2021

① Keep the exterior and movable parts of the valve clean, and protect the integrity of the valve paint. The surface of the valve, the trapezoidal thread on the valve stem and the valve stem nut, the sliding part of the valve stem nut and the bracket, and the gears, worm gears and worms are prone to deposit a lot of dirt, oil and medium residues, which will cause wear and corrosion to the valve. Therefore, the valve should always be kept clean. The general dust on the valve can be swept with brush and compressed air, and even can be brushed with copper wire, until the processing surface and mating surface show metallic luster, and the painted surface shows the natural color of paint. The steam trap should be inspected by a dedicated person at least once per shift; the flush valve and the bottom wire of the steam trap should be opened regularly for flushing, or should be removed and flushed regularly to prevent dirt from blocking the valve.

② Maintain the lubrication of the valve, valve trapezoidal thread, sliding parts of the valve stem nut and bracket, bearing positions, meshing parts of gears and worm gears, and other coordinated moving parts. Good lubrication conditions are required to reduce mutual friction and avoid mutual wear. . For parts that do not have an oil cup or nozzle, and are easily damaged or lost during operation, the lubrication system should be repaired and the lubrication system should be verified.

Lubrication parts should be regularly refueled according to specific conditions. Frequently opened valves with high temperature are suitable for refueling once a week to a month; valves with infrequent openings and low temperature may have a longer refueling cycle. Lubricants: organic oil, butter, molybdenum disulfide, graphite, etc. Engine oil is not suitable for high temperature valves; butter is also not suitable, they will be lost due to high temperature melting. The high temperature valve is suitable for adding molybdenum disulfide and wiping graphite powder. Lubricating parts exposed to the outside, such as trapezoidal threads, teeth, etc., are easily contaminated with grease if grease such as butter is used, while molybdenum disulfide and graphite powder lubrication are not easy to contaminate dust and the lubrication effect is better than butter. Graphite powder is not easy Apply directly, and use a little oil or water to make a paste.

The oil-filled plug valve should be filled with oil at the specified time, otherwise it is easy to wear and leak.

③ Keep the two pieces complete and intact. The bolts of the flange and the bracket should be complete, fully buckled, and no looseness is allowed. If the fastening nut on the handwheel is loose, it should be tightened in time to avoid abrasion of the connection or loss of the handwheel. After the handwheel is lost, it is not allowed to replace the handwheel with a trap, and it should be provided in time. The packing pressure difference is not allowed to be skewed or without pre-tightening clearance. For environments that are susceptible to dirt such as rain, snow, dust, etc., a protective cover should be installed on the valve stem. The ruler on the valve should be complete and accurate. The valve's lead seals, caps, pneumatic accessories, etc. should be complete and intact. There should be no dents or cracks in the insulation jacket.

In addition, it is not allowed to knock, support heavy objects or stand on the valve to avoid soiling or damaging the valve. Especially non-metal mesh doors and cast iron valves should be avoided.

Maintain the daily maintenance of electric devices. The maintenance of electric devices is generally not less than once a month. The maintenance contents include: the appearance should be clean, free of dust, and the device should not be contaminated by soda and oil; the sealing surface and points should be firm and tight. There is no leakage; the lubrication parts should be oiled according to the regulations, and the valve socket nuts should be greased; the electrical parts should be intact, no phase failures, automatic switches and thermal relays should not trip, and the indicator lights should display correctly.
